Waverly Golf & Country Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Waverly, Iowa.
The course opened in 1960.
The course sits on rolling to hilly terrain. The greens are fast and the fairways are narrow. Water hazards come into play on six holes.
The course saw $1.5M of improvements in 2002 that included new greens, tees, sand, ponds, renovated fairways and cart paths that were redone. In 2010 two new holes were added to replace two holes on property sold to the Waverly Health Center.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,004 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,810 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 13, a par-5 that plays to 522 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 144 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 14, a 433-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Waverly Golf Course is # 8, the 144 yard par-3.
The signature hole is #6, a 493-yard, par 5, requiring an approach shot over a lake in front of the green. You may wish to lay-up on this hole. Long hitters that think they can get there in two shots often lose strokes.
